About Patty
Patty Stearns, Broker, GRI, has over 30 years in real estate sales locally. She is a graduate of the Real Estate Institute, and a member of the California and National Associations of Realtors. She has served as a Director for the Humboldt County Association of Realtors, as well as serving on various committees. In addition, Patty has been actively involved in the community for 25 years, supporting the Arts, Land Trusts, Botanical Garden, and other non-profits.
Always interested in design, Patty graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Landscape Architecture. This emphasis and skill has served her well in her chosen field of real estate.
After moving to Humboldt County from the San Francisco Bay area in 1977 with her husband and 2 daughters, Patty realized the incredible beauty of the area and its draw. She settled in Trinidad where she began her real estate career as co-owner of Trinidad Realty. Eventually she became affiliated with a national real estate company, Coldwell Banker Sellers Realty, based in Arcata.
Patty has consistently won annual awards from Coldwell Banker most every year she has been with the franchise, including the Sterling Award, the Diamond Award, and others. In 2004 and 2008, Patty was awarded the President’s Circle International Award, given only to the top 5% of Coldwell Banker agents worldwide. In 2006 and 2018 she received the coveted International President’s Elite Award, given to the top 1% of Coldwell Banker agents internationally. Patty is in the top 3% of Realtors in Humboldt County, averages $7M to $15M in gross sales annually, and particularly specializes in oceanfront and ocean view homes, residential sales, and 1031 Tax-Deferred Exchanges.
Real estate has proven to be a very special way of getting to know people and assisting them in one of the most important transactions of a lifetime. Patty takes pride in and receives deep satisfaction from helping clients move through the necessary stages of buying or selling their home. Detail-oriented and familiar with local real estate issues such as water and septic systems, coastal issues and permit process, Patty utilizes her extensive connections to area professionals to find solutions to problems and answer client questions.
Although a self-confessed “real estate-aholic”, Patty enjoys all of the outdoor richness that Humboldt County offers: hiking, kayaking, gardening, beachcombing, and photography.
