Patty Stearns, Broker, GRI, has over 30 years in real estate sales locally. She is a graduate of the Real Estate Institute and a member of the California and National Associations of Realtors, and has served as a Director for the Humboldt County Association of Realtors. Patty has also been actively involved in the community for 25 years, supporting the Arts, Land Trusts, Botanical Garden, and other non-profits.

A Little About Patty

A native Californian raised in the Bay Area — one of five kids rattling around in the back of a Ford Country Squire with no seatbelts! — Patty moved to Trinidad with a husband, two toddlers, and a cat, and has loved it ever since. Real estate connects her to the area’s quirky, progressive community, while the natural beauty keeps her grounded.

Always interested in design, Patty graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Landscape Architecture, an emphasis that has served her well in real estate.

After moving to Humboldt County from the Bay Area in 1977, Patty settled in Trinidad and began her real estate career as co-owner of Trinidad Realty, later joining Coldwell Banker Sellers Realty in Arcata.

Patty has consistently won annual awards from Coldwell Banker, including the Sterling and Diamond Awards. She received the President’s Circle International Award in 2004 and 2008, and the International President’s Elite Award — given to the top 1% of Coldwell Banker agents worldwide — in 2006 and 2018. Patty is in the top 1% of Realtors in Humboldt County, averages $7M to $15M in gross sales annually, and specializes in oceanfront and ocean view homes, residential sales, and 1031 Tax-Deferred Exchanges. 

Real estate has proven to be a special way of getting to know people and assisting them in one of the most important transactions of a lifetime. Detail-oriented and familiar with local real estate issues such as water and septic systems, coastal permitting, and coastal issues, Patty draws on her extensive network of local professionals to find solutions and answer client questions.

Although a self-confessed “real estate-aholic,” Patty enjoys the outdoor richness Humboldt County offers: hiking, kayaking, gardening, beachcombing, and photography.
